Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-10-03

1. The service

JudgeMyName helps you choose a name: a baby name, a new legal name, an English name, a nickname, a stage or pen name, a handle, a pet name or a business name. You enter 2 to 8 candidates, or ask for suggestions where we offer them, and we compare them against practical checks and the birth details you provide.

It is for entertainment and reflection. It does not predict anyone's future, health or success, and it has no legal or official weight. It does not certify a name for any registry, court, school, employer or trademark office. Check those requirements with the body that decides them.

Results come from fixed rules, so the same input gives the same grades. An AI writes the narration around them. It can't change a grade or a pick. See AI narration.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to buy tickets. If you are younger, ask a parent or guardian to buy and use the service for you.

If you enter a child's details, you confirm you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have their permission.

3. Accounts and private links

There is no sign-up. Your tickets live in a wallet tied to a cookie in your browser. If you clear cookies or switch devices, you may lose access to unused tickets, so keep the purchase number from your receipt.

Each reading opens only through a long private link. Anyone who has the link can read it. Share it on purpose, and tell us if a link has leaked.

4. Tickets and question credits

One ticket opens one full report. Question credits pay for follow-up questions about that report, one credit per answer, and a credit comes back if we can't answer. Tickets and credits don't expire, can't be redeemed for cash and can't be transferred.

5. Prices and payment

Prices are shown before you pay. They are charged in US dollars through PayPal. PayPal handles your payment details, and we never see your card number. Any currency conversion, fees or taxes added by PayPal or your bank are outside our control.

A purchase is complete when PayPal confirms it. We credit your tickets only after that confirmation.

6. Delivery

We deliver the report when you open it with a ticket. Opening it counts as delivery of digital content.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel an unopened reading for a full refund. We refund in full if the report contains a factual error. Unused tickets are refunded on request. Details and how to ask are on the Refunds & cancellations page.

8. EU and UK consumers: right of withdrawal

If you live in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases under the law that applies to you.

Unused tickets and unopened reports are fully refundable on request. Our policy is more generous than the legal minimum: unused tickets can be refunded at any time.

Once you open a report, its content has been supplied. Refunds after opening follow the Refunds & cancellations page, and a factual error is always refunded. Nothing here limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law, including a remedy for a report that isn't as described.

9. Acceptable use

Don't use the service to harass or defame anyone, to enter details of a person without a good reason to have them, to break the law, to probe or overload our systems, to scrape reports at scale, or to resell the reports. Don't enter another adult's birth details without their permission. We may refuse service or close access where these rules are broken.

10. Intellectual property

The site, engine, text and design belong to us or our licensors. You get a personal, non-exclusive licence to read, save and print your reports for your own use. Your inputs stay yours. You allow us to process them to deliver the service. A name you pick is yours to use, and we claim no rights in it. We don't check whether it is free to register or trademark.

11. AI-written narration

The grades, picks and ties come from fixed rules in our engine. An AI model writes the explanatory text around them. It can't change a verdict, and text that contradicts the engine is thrown away and replaced by rule-based wording. A person doesn't review each report before you read it. If you spot a factual error, tell us and we'll refund it.

12. Disclaimers

The service is provided as is and as available. We don't promise that a name will bring luck, approval, a good outcome or a particular result, or that the service will always be uninterrupted or error free. Where the law lets us, we exclude implied warranties.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law permits, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit or lost opportunity, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us for the reading or tickets involved. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your non-excludable consumer rights.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply to purchases made after they take effect. For a change that materially affects you, we'll give notice on the site.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Where you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live and may bring a claim in the courts there. Please write to us first so we can try to fix it.
